Best attractions to visit in Las Vegas

Article by Fiona Roy

Las Vegas is often seen as a once-in-a-lifetime holiday destination. Jam-packed with endless attractions, it’s definitely a place where you will never get bored. There’s no such thing as ‘quiet time’ or even the end of the day, as it’s quite literally the city that never stops. With no clocks around to tell you the time – chances are you won’t stop either. That’s why it’s a perfect pick for an American getaway.

No matter how long you’re in Las Vegas for, you’ll find enough attractions to fill your time. Most hotels are attached to a casino and the casinos in larger hotels are an attraction in themselves. You’ll probably recognise Caesar’s Palace from numerous films, and inside the MGM Grand you can watch the resident lions go about their day.

Seeing a show during your stay in Las Vegas is a must, as the over-the-top performances rarely disappoint. Choose from the different Cirque du Soleil shows being performed daily, including aquatic ‘O’, vibrant ‘Mystere’ and The Beatles themed ‘LOVE’. All are likely to leave you amazed.

With over 150 shops, Planet Hollywood’s Miracle Mile offers almost everything an avid shopper would want on their trip to Vegas. If you have more cash to splash, then head over to Crystals, where Tiffany & Co., Louis Vuitton, Cartier and many other famous names should see you satisfied.

Though other holidays in the sun are associated with gorgeous landscapes and beaches, Las Vegas does offer some surprisingly stunning views. For a fantastic view of the city, head 113 floors up to the top of the Stratosphere Tower. You can check out the view, or if you’re feeling a little more adventurous, pick from a variety of thrill-seeking rides that will definitely make your visit even more memorable.

If you fancy a more relaxing activity, watch the beautiful Bellagio Fountains as they dance in time to music along with accompanying lights. Or, you can experience a little of Europe on your Las Vegas holiday by climbing the Paris hotel’s Eiffel Tower and taking a gondola ride through the realistic sights of Venice that are built within The Venetian hotel.

Couples can pay a visit to the infamous ‘Little Wedding Chapel,’ where they even offer drive-thru ceremonies. Some of the most unlikely people have eloped in Vegas, including celebrities like Britney Spears and Angelina Jolie. As the saying goes, ‘What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas,’ so don’t be afraid to release your wild side.
