American Country Awards 2011: List of Winners! Jason Aldean dominated the field with six wins, including Artist of the Year, at the 2011 American Country Awards, where the fans vote and determine the winners. So he’s pretty popular then! Aldean also won Album of the Year by a Male Artist for My Kinda Party and shared Single and Music Video of the Year with Kelly Clarkson for “Don’t You Wanna Stay.” The only artist to come close to Aldean was Carrie Underwood, the Female Artist of the Year and a winner for Music Video and Single of the Year for “Mama’s Song.” Absentee Brad Paisley was named Male Artist of the Year, while Blake Shelton took home Music Video of the Year by a Male Artist, plus the Video of the Year. New Artist of the Year Scotty McCreery thanked American Idol for propelling him into his current lofty position, and also performed at the star-studded event. Most stunningly, Taylor Swift (not present) went home empty-handed despite six nominations. That’s okay. Spreading the wealth around a little is okay too. Third time might not always be the charm but it is always fun! I went to Vegas for the third time. We stayed at Ballys. The location of the hotel was great! it was right in the middle of the strip, across from Bellagio and connected to Paris!! The room was per person (there were 4 of us and we stayed there for 5 days). It is definitely not a 5 star hotel. The inside is pretty plain..our carpet had a huge bleached out stain on it..who knows what happened there lol. Overall we were happy what we got for what we payed.

The holidays are in full gear and I’m pumped full with holiday shopping, cheer and tidings. I celebrate in my usual way. 10pm, I wake up and spend the next few hours finishing up on a furniture package I’ve been procrastinating on. I finish at 3am, take care of some updates, do some cleaning, shower, pack, and head out. I arrive 5 hours prior to the check in time at my hotel, wearing the wrong shoes, tired and hungry. I’ve already had gas station food twice and my legs are throbbing. It’s brisk out, but I can’t stop sweating. I’m officially cranky. When I get to my room, I think they gave me one of the rooms from when the place first opened. I can guess the original design direction by the art over the bed. The designers probably wanted a two-tone beige, a medium cherry, with gold and blue accents. But I guess the client strong armed them to use more blue. A lot more. It’s 2am. I’m hungry. The hotel gave me an unlimited pass to a number buffets, but the one at my hotel is closed. I end up spending on chicken strips. And then I realize, I’m not really a Vegas person. I don’t want to shop, wander the strip, or gambe. My last option is to go to a bar, get loaded and flirt. I decide to try and get some work done. But the desk is tiny. Even worse, this four-star place demands a fee for internet. I nerd-raged over a lack of free wi-fi …
