The MGM Grand Hotel is by far one of the best concert halls and auditoriums anyone could ever hope to visit for any concert in Las Vegas. I attended the live concert on Saturday, October 8th 2011 – featuring Journey with special guests Foreigner and Night Ranger – and what a star performance it was. For many years now I’ve been wanting to see the bands Journey, Foreigner and Night Ranger on tour. Well, I finally got the chance to see the legendary bands perform together. I especially admired Neal Schon for his amazing guitar expertise – just his presence here in Las Vegas was surprising to say the least, and now he was playing at the MGM! His unique style and amazing talent was quite a blessing for me personally. For many years, I have been waiting for the opportunity to see the legendary lead guitarist play, and this was it, I was thrilled! His guitar solo was probably the best single guitar solo performance I’ve ever seen with my own eyes, and let me tell you, I have seen many! Yes folks, the multi platinum recording artist and rock guitarist is considered by many, including myself, a “legend” in every sense of the word! If anyone, or shall I say, any Journey fans, get the opportunity to attend one of their live concerts, then by all means don’t miss this show! I consider myself very lucky when the band reunited for the Eclipse Tour and my lucky day had arrived here in Las Vegas! I recommend all Journey fans to make the time and effort to see the band – and if it is …

Elvis wedding Las Vegas
Elvis and Priscilla were married May 1, 1967, nearly eight years after their courtship began. The wedding was private, and it was held at the Alladin Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Priscilla wore a beaded white gown and a veil. The veil was attached to her hair, which was styled in the popular “bee-hive” style. The veil was three feet long. Her hair was dyed black. On top of her hair sat a rhinestone crown. Elvis wore a black dinner suit that fit him quite well. Elvis had two best men, Marty Lacker and Joe Esposito. Priscilla’s maid of honor was her sister Michelle. Elvis was thirty-two years old and Priscilla was twenty-one years old.
The ceremony was in the morning and lasted around eight. minutes. At the ceremony there was a small amount of guests. The ceremony was followed by a press conference. At the conclusion of the press conference, a breakfast reception was held. There were 100 guests in attendance for the reception. The cake was six-tiered. Their first dance as husband and wife was to the song “Love Me Tender.”

After the wedding, the two left to honeymoon in Palm Springs, California to vacation for a few days. They stayed at 1350 Ladera Circle in a grand home. The location is now available for tours. You can even use it for your own honeymoon or wedding. Upon their arrival Elvis showed his romantic side by picking up Priscilla and carrying her over the threshold. While doing so, he sang “The Hawaiian Wedding Song.”
The home that Elvis honeymooned at was leased by him for a year. Elvis’ manager Tom Parker lived in the area and made the suggestion for Elvis to honeymoon here, because he thought it would be the perfect place for him to relax and enjoy the company of friends.
Famous Hollywood gossip columnist Rona Barrett lived nearby and became suspicious of a wedding when many family members arrived in Palm Springs on April 29, 1967. Rona made contact with the house maid and she was able to get confirmation that the two were set to be married May 1, 1967. She made an announcement on her nightly television show that the two were prepared to be married.
The two planned on having their wedding at the estate in Palm Springs. However, the media onslaught forced them to change their plans. The morning of the wedding, the two had to sneak out the back door of their estate and meet up with a limo on Rose Avenue. Upon arrival to Rose Avenue, there were limousines prepared to drive them and the wedding party to the airport.
Frank Sinatra loaned Elvis his private jet “Christina.” By 4:00 a.m. the two had arrived and already obtained their marriage license. The actual wedding took place at 9:40 a.m. at the Alladin hotel in the owner’s suite. On the same day, the couple left for their honeymoon, back in Palm Springs, California. Another point of interest is the fact that Lisa Marie, the first daughter of Elvis and Priscilla was born exactly nine months after the date of the honeymoon.

Las Vegas Snow – Snow in Las Vegas Nevada

The palm trees and marquees of the Las Vegas Strip were sprinkled with a rare snowfall on Wednesday, as forecasters predicted up to three inches could accumulate overnight. Snow was building up around the famous “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” on the south end of the Strip, as visitors parked and posed for pictures wearing hooded jackets. Traffic inched along slowly on slick highways and many flights in and out of the tourist hub were delayed.

“Sometimes you have to travel to the mountains to see the snow, and now you don’t have to,” said Jose Villeda, 38, as he walked out of his kitchen job at Lavo, a restaurant and nightclub at the Palazzo hotel-casino. Snowfall is common in nearby mountains hills, but not on the Strip, Villeda said after walking down a ramp from the hotel, sticking out his tongue to catch snowflakes. Up to 10 inches could fall in the suburbs in the western foothills of the Spring Mountains, National Weather Service Meteorologist Andrew Gorelow said.

Gorelow said a powerful wet Pacific storm with an Arctic chill were rolling through the area. He says 3 inches would break the December record of 2 inches set in 1967, but wouldn’t match the Las Vegas winter record of 9 inches set in 1974. The near whiteout conditions had school officials considering a snow day for Las Vegas students. The Nevada Highway Patrol and Las Vegas police reported fender-benders on slippery roads, but no serious injuries.

Las Vegas: Nevada?s Desert Dreamland
Many places in the world come to be known for one or two things. For those who want ancient history and fine wine, then Rome would probably be a popular choice. Whilst those who are looking to sample the bright lights, big city buzz of a true global city, then New York will no doubt feature high on their list.
Similarly, Las Vegas – the Nevada desert city populated by half a million people – has come to be known as a place for gambling, entertainment and having a wild, hedonistic time.
In a city that boasts around 100 casinos and a staggering 100,000 hotel rooms, it’s fair to say that Las Vegas certainly does its best to cater for the many millions of tourists who arrive each year. Certainly, those who love nothing better than to sit around a poker or blackjack table will be like kids in a candy store, while those who like the simplicity of sitting at a fruit machine will be spoilt for choice too.
However difficult it is to get away from the gambling and late night party scene Las Vegas has come to be known for, the appeal of this city extends way beyond the round-the-clock casinos and bars.
First of all, Las Vegas doesn’t do things in half measures. Its wealth and ambition has turned it into a staggeringly impressive place to simply wander around and at night the famous Las Vegas Strip feels eerily like some sort of desert dreamland.
Scaled-down, replica versions of the Eiffel tower, Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty and countless other familiar edifices battle it out with pyramid-shaped hotels and imposing water fountains to create a truly mesmerising visual extravaganza.
Of course, the dazzle and glitz do have limited mileage. Furthermore, those who want to confine their time in the Las Vegas casinos to no more than a couple of nights will be glad to know there is a plethora of things to do in this remarkable city.
Las Vegas is a hotspot for variety shows, magic shows, rock concerts, festivals, musicals, ballet – every type of live performance you can think of.
For fine cuisine, there are few better places than Vegas. Many world-renowned chefs have set up dining establishments here and everything from steak and seafood to pizza and paella can be found in the countless restaurants and eateries across the city.
Nevada’s star attraction may be in the middle of the Mojave Desert, but Las Vegas flights are plentiful and McCarran International Airport receives flights from many destinations in the US, as well as a number of key European destinations such as London Heathrow.
With so much to see and do in this desert dreamland, it’s little wonder 40million people choose to visit the city each year. Viva Las Vegas!
