It won’t be long before luxury train travel will be in service between Las Vegas and Southern California. A private company says it will have luxury and entertaining train travel in service by the end of 2011. And the train service is being built by a private company without government and taxpayer money. It’s called the XTrain. Las Vegas Railway Express, Inc. is the creator of the “X” Train, a passenger train that is planned to link Las Vegas to the Los Angeles area on existing railroad routes. When service is launched, which is expected in late 2011, the “X” Train will offer Las Vegas-style entertainment en route, including a sports bar lounge and entertainment cars as well as a host of travel-related amenities including the ability book hotel rooms, tickets to popular shows and other entertainment activities. “More than 12 million tourists drive the 300-mile trip between Los Angeles and Las Vegas each year, and with no alternatives other than buses and hassling with crowded airports and higher-cost air travel, we believe we have an opportunity to provide a service that will be a green, low-carbon, money-saving alternative,” said Chairman and CEO Michael Barron. “We plan to use existing right-of-way and will be able to hit the rails with a minimum of new infrastructure and a minimum of cost.” Watch our video report below and go to www.VegasXtrain.com for more information.

Victory Poker, Who?S Your Daddy, And The Man Behind It All

Victory Poker, the newest online poker community, opened its virtual doors to the public on Monday February 1, 2010.?? The idea for this revolutionary new poker site came from the mind of 28 year-old Dan Fleyshman.? Fleyshman has ten years of experience in owning and promoting multiple businesses (including a successful energy drink), and is very serious and passionate about his newest venture into online poker.? He sat down the night of the project’s official launch to discuss everything having to do with Victory Poker with Las Vegas Poker Source.

Las Vegas Poker Source:? Give us a little bit of background on yourself.

Dan Fleyshman: ?I trademarked the phrase “Who’s your Daddy” at age 17 and did million in sales for products with that catch phrase. ?At age 23 I became the youngest owner ever of a publicly traded company and launched an energy drink.? I drove the drink up the ranks to its current status of number 7 out of 900 energy drinks. ?In addition to doing all of that for 10 years, I had won a half dozen poker championships and decided it was time to explore that passion.?

LVPS: What other companies do you own and operate?

DF:? I resigned as president and hired a staff to take over the energy drink, so I am focusing on Victory Poker now.

LVPS:? So you’re a poker player -?what games/stakes do you like to play and at which casino in Las Vegas do you prefer to play poker?

DF:? I really enjoy the feel of the Hard Rock Poker Lounge.?I play / and / No Limit Holdem and / Pot Limit Omaha.??

LVPS:? You mentioned you have some live poker accomplishments under your belt.

DF:? Yes.? I won the CEO Poker Championship in 2006 at the Palms, the 10k buy-in Chip Leader Challenge and the Canadian Poker Tour main event 00 buy-in, both at Hard Rock.?

LVPS:? So why did you choose online poker as your next big business venture?

DF:? The larger sites like Full Tilt and PokerStars have become very much like IBM or Apple; they have become massive and I wanted to create a more personal experience for poker players.? And I want our poker pros to feel involved with team decisions, promotions, and anything else they come up with to make Victory Poker a great place to play online poker.

LVPS:? From the original concept to the launch, what was the total time line for the project?

DF:? We put this together in 96 days.? Everything was fast forwarded due to my previous experience in owning a business.? I knew exactly what attorneys to go with, which poker pros I wanted to approach, solid business associates, etc.? I gave myself a February 1st deadline to have this ready to go and here we are, right on time!

LVPS:? Who else is involved at the top of Victory Poker? ?

DF:? I am the sole owner. Joe Navarro and Sam Chauhan are two of the consultants for the company.

LVPS:? Who are some of the affiliates/site partners for Victory Poker?

DF:? Victory Poker will be sponsoring the Canadian Poker Tour, World Poker Showdown, and High Stakes DB. We are currently advertising with Coinflip, Card Player, Bluff, Poker Player, and Poker Pro in Canada, Europe and America.

LVPS:? What network is Victory Poker a part of and how did you decide to go with them?

DF:? We operate on the Everleaf Network, which merged with UPN Network, and will soon come up with a new name.? The merger tripled them in size.? Red Planet Gaming created the Everleaf software.?They won 2008 and 2009 International Gaming award for their software. Their CO, Vahe Baloulian, has a great reputation in the poker community.? It was a good fit, because I wanted to have a company I could trust who I could talk to every day if needed. ?They are also the only network with an EU license that accepts US Players.

LVPS:? Who are the poker professionals on board with your new site? What were they offered to entice them to choose your brand of online poker?

DF:? Antonio Esfandiari, David Chicotsky, Brian Rast, Andrew Robl, Keith Gipson, Paul Wasicka, Lee Markholt, Danny Wong, Sander Lylloff, Alec Torelli, Dan Blizerian, and Sara Underwood.??? These professional poker players joined because they get to be an advisor to the “team” instead of being one of a hundred or more pros who simply wears a logo or shows up in the Sunday major events.?? Our team of pro players gets to learn about a business and be an integral part of it, create their own promotions, and more to be revealed soon.

LVPS:? What will you offer players that will give you an edge over the competition?

DF:? We have a 300% deposit bonus for up to 00 initial deposit, and it is “slow release,” meaning you earn it as you play instead of being pressured into having to achieve it in a short time frame.? We plan on giving away training with David “The Maven” Chicotsky, Vegas trips, tickets to come party with Antonio Esfandiari, seats to dinner parties with the Victory Poker Team, Win a Date with Playmate, Rake Races where we fly the top 10 winners out to Vegas to train with the team, and much more. We want to give away something besides just “seats” to events like all the other online sites already does.? Victory Poker strives to be different from everyone else by offering “experiences” to our loyal poker players.

LVPS:? What challenges did you face in the creation of this new poker product?

DF:? Well mainly we’re competing with existing multi-billion dollar online poker companies, but I am already used to that from the energy drink.?Competing against Red Bull was hard too, but I’m a realist – I never expected people to stop drinking Red Bull and drink mine instead.? I fully expect that people will still play on Full Tilt and PokerStars, but I want to offer them an additional fun place to play poker.

Of course, getting all the legal aspects set up correctly so as not to upset the government, make sure all laws are followed, and ensuring that licensing is correct…those are all major steps to getting this started, and none of it is easy, but I was fortunate enough to have dealt with it all before.

LVPS:? Will Victory Poker be a presence at live poker events as well?? How do you plan on making yourselves known?

DF:? Yes, most definitely.? We have a charity event for Sharon Osbourne’s Colon Cancer Foundation coming up on Feb 6th at Hard Rock, a Haiti event planned in Los Angeles on Mar 6 at W Hotel, just to name two.? We plan to be very active with charity and invite plenty of media to these events.? The goal is to create a bond with the media and poker community and to shed a positive light on poker for a change.

LVPS:? Do you see the UIGEA being overturned anytime soon?? What is your opinion on the whole online poker front?

DF:? Prohibition doesn’t work – people will play poker whether they’re “allowed to” or not.? The government could benefit from the taxing.? It is the easiest business to tax in the world due to tracking hand histories.?Online poker players absolutely cannot lie on their taxes about poker, so it would be very easy for the government to track, organize and audit.?? This is an aspect no one talks about.? There is no downside to it for the government or economy, and people will pay this tax because they enjoy playing poker.

LVPS:? Do you have any advice for people out there who want to become an entrepreneur like yourself??

DF: Your network is most important, because you can have all the drive and hard work in the world, but you need connections, help and deals.? “Going for it” is fun, but you have to have a rhyme and reason for everything and proper funding or else you’ll learn expensive lessons the hard way.?? Be open for advice, hire attorneys, and have accountants.? It is easier to start everything correctly than to have to go back two years later and fix it all.?

Business life is so much easier with the onslaught of social media – take advantage! ?There are 40+ sites out there aside from the obvious ones.? Use all of them, because they’re typically free and spread you in as many directions as possible.

LVPS: What would be your main mission in this new poker venture?

DF:? We want to bring back the true essence of poker.? The Victory Poker team “lives” poker.? They live and breathe, learn and discuss, and play poker every single day.? We know what the poker player wants; this is not just another site. We plan on being around for the long haul and being a major force in the online poker world.

Download the Victory Poker software today at victorypoker.com and begin playing poker among the best.? Use bonus code “LVPS” to get a 300% deposit bonus up to 00.? Visit lasvegaspokersource.com for information on poker tournaments, major poker events and more in Las Vegas.

Hotel Accommodation in Iceland

Iceland is now considered as one of the best places in the world to visit. In fact, it is deemed as one amongst the top 10 Best Value Destinations for 2010. Other top destinations are Thailand, Las Vegas and London among others. For the best time in this mid-Atlantic island, take advantage of an Iceland tour and package right in the hotel of your choice. One of the amazing advantages for tourists is that Iceland is incredibly different to the rest of Europe and yet is only a short flight away. The major attractions of Iceland are natural – stunning waterfalls, steaming geysers, dazzling glaciers and of course the beautiful Northern Lights.

The most used language of Iceland is “the Icelandic” and it is one of the very famous Nordic languages group. This group is the sub-group of the Germanic languages. Normally, Germanic language is divided into two groups i.e. North Germanic or Nordic languages and West Germanic. Iceland was first inhabited in around 870 A.D and most of the first visitors were from Norway [west Norway], Sweden and Ireland. Some Celtics were also in the earliest arrivals to Iceland. The language that became the most popular in Iceland was that of the people of Norway. Some traces of Celtic language are also visible in Icelandic language. The only words borrowed from Celtic language are some personal names and some names of places. Till 14th century Icelandic and Norwegian language was almost same. It was after 14th century that they became totally different from each other. This change occurred due to significant changes in the language of Norway. Icelandic language didn’t change and this was due to rich Icelandic literature that was written in read in the same language in 12th and 13th centuries. Now it is said that not even a single word has changed in Icelandic language that’s why the texts written in twelfth century can be read by a ten year boy even now. Another quality of Icelandic language is its uniformity i.e. the absence of dialects. But, Icelandic language has seen a huge change in its phonetics. The price of course is subject to very limited availability as any other hot flight deals to USA, so when it’s gone, it’s gone, and bookings can be made only over the telephone. The cities of destination are New York, Boston, Baltimore Washington, Minneapolis, Orlando and Halifax Nova Scotia. The accommodation at the US or Canada destination is not included, but being aware that nowadays the best offer for the return trip across the Atlantic is 343 Euros with Zoom Airlines, it is impressive.
The following morning we bounced out of the lodge like coiled springs, ready to do battle with those fresh fish that would have run up from the sea overnight. Halli drove us down to the coveted Stokkhylsbrot pool in the canyon, often one of the biggest producers in the early season. As we descended down the walk way the river opened up beneath us, the early morning sun lighting up the entire pool with that beautiful greenish blue colour. Polaroids were donned and the frantic scanning began. I headed down to the river while my companion scrambled further round to gain a better vantage point of the tail. I began to strip line off my reel and loosen the shoulders with a couple of Spey casts higher up the pool until I was alerted by a whistle from Halli, accompanied by frantic gesticulations that I took to mean there was a pod of fish holding in the tail. Then came the good news that the aircraft could fly just a few days before our departure. Thankfully it stayed that way. We boarded our rescheduled flight with no problems and returned home. We were really lucky, we spoke to people who had their second flight canceled. Some had to stay up to nearly two weeks over there expected departure date. I am really glad we didn’t go to the airport, we heard loads of horror stories of chaos. Then to find out that ours and many other flights were not fully boarded was very disappointing as people really wanted to go home.

Shin Kong Wedbush has Three Reasons to Buy Las Vegas Sands Today

Historically, tumultuous times offer some of the best opportunities to buy stocks, and the market’s recent mess surely qualifies. Many investors are keeping their distance from casino and gaming stocks these days, but a good deal still think there’s value in casino operator Las Vegas Sands (NYSE: LVS). Many investors our still rating the company remain bullish, so there’s no shortage of reasons Las Vegas Sands will thrive, three of which I’ve highlighted below.

1. Macau

Las Vegas Sands has a growing presence in the booming city of Macau, which is its biggest source of revenue. It plans to restart stalled construction on its new resorts in January, with the first phase opening in mid-2011. Like Melco Crown Entertainment (Nasdaq: MPEL), the company plans to continue building there and eventually expects to have a total of 20,000 hotel rooms in the area, a gambling haven that provides big opportunities for many operators.

2. The house always wins

Despite a struggling Las Vegas casino industry that had an effect on operators like Las Vegas Sands, MGM Mirage (NYSE: MGM), Boyd Gaming (NYSE: BYD), and Wynn Resorts (Nasdaq: WYNN), some metrics show that the decline is slowing and thereby lead some to believe that the worst may be over. Las Vegas Sands already sees an improvement in 2010 bookings, and some CAPS members believe that the city of Las Vegas will regain its popularity with people looking to roll the dice.

3. Skin in the game

Similar to Jeff Bezos’ ownership in Amazon.com (Nasdaq: AMZN) and Warren Buffet’s massive stake in Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE: BRK-B), CAPS members like that Sheldon Adelson and his family are playing for the shareholders. The family invested hundreds of millions more in the company last year to help it survive and added more shares to their already large stake earlier this year.

Tips on Booking Summer Flights

Article by www.cheapfares.com

Tuesday, May 24th, 2011

Most travelers would like to purchase cheap airplane tickets and discount hotel rooms or cheap vacation packages. The question that is often asked is when is the best time to make such a purchase?

Historically the cheapest time for buying airline tickets for travel over a major holiday weekend is generally six to seven weeks ahead of that holiday. For example, ticket prices for airline tickets for travel over the July 4th weekend, should decline around May 19th and go back up around May 25th. Then prices will remain pretty steady until a week prior to the holiday when prices typically increase around 10 percent.

Airfares fluctuate because airlines are constantly reviewing how many reservations they have on a given flight prior to departure. If a plane is not filling up, they lower prices to encourage fence sitters to buy. Conversely fares often increase as planes approach seating capacity.

Although airfares are substantially higher than last year, three recent attempts by the airlines to increase prices have failed.

Further pressures are being placed on legacy airlines (such as United and Delta) by discount airlines that have started to undercut larger competitors by placing a limited number of seats on sale.

Travelers can sometimes predict a sale by looking at the seat map of their potential flight. Most Internet travel sites offer their customers a view of available seats. When a plane has a lot of empty seats, a sale may be in the future. However, when only a few seats remain, booking quickly is advisable if that is the flight you want to take.

The cheapest airfares and hotel room rates are usually found in package deals. Packages enable airlines and hotels to fill seats and rooms without showing individual discounted prices.

The cheapest summer destinations are Orlando, Boston, Denver and Las Vegas. Surveys indicate that 60 percent of Americans plan to travel this summer compared to about 50 percent last year.

The Safest Tourist Spots in Mexico

Although there are plenty of cheap airplane tickets, discount hotel rooms, and cheap vacation packages available to Mexico, bad press concerning drug cartel violence has made some travelers think twice about visiting. The reality is that while some areas of Mexico are dangerous, far more are not.

The San Francisco Chronicle recently printed the five safest Mexican states for travelers, based on per capita drug related homicides:

Tlaxcala, Yucatan, Puebla, Queretaro, and Baja California Sur.
Drug related violence has largely been concentrated along the U.S Mexican border in non-tourist areas.

In April the U.S. State Department expanded its Mexico travel warning to include tourist spots such as Acapulco, parts of the west coast states of Jalisco and Nayarit, and Rocky Point on the Gulf of California.

Lonely Planet recently came out with recommendations as to the eight safest tourist spots in Mexico:

• Mexico City is famous for its many cultural attractions. Its drug related murder rate in 2010 was 2.2 per 100,000. Washington, D.C.’s rate was more than 10 times higher in 2009.

• Merida is well known for its colonial charm and archaeological wonders while only being four hours from Cancun.

• Todos Santos is a quiet and quaint town in Baja California Sur (one of Mexico’s safest states).

• San Miguel de Allende is an American ex-pat enclave known for its great hotels and restaurants.

• Huatulco offers 12 miles of some of Mexico’s most pristine and less frequented beach front.

• Playa de Carmen is the Mayan Rivera’s pedestrian friendly party central town.

• Guanajuato is a 16th century hill town with a decided bohemian vibe only 30 minutes from the Leo airport.

• Puebla is referred to as a “mini Mexico City” packed with arts and culture.

Five Tips for Finding the Best Hotel Rates

Article by Travel Insider

Getting the most “bang” for your travel buck is more important than ever, but while 2009 may have been the year of the bargain-basement getaway, hotel rates
for 2010 probably won’t be quite so inexpensive. That’s because, according to a recent Traveler Confidence Report from Travelocity, travelers’ plans and attitudes about travel are on the upswing – and many hotels are simply no longer slashing rates to record lows. That said, great hotel rates are still out there – you just need to know where – and how – to look for them. To get your travel plans underway, follow these simple tips:
* Go straight to the source. Many hotel companies offer their best hotel rates
– with a guarantee – to those who book at the company’s website. For instance, Marriott offers the “Look No Further® Best Rate Guarantee” – which basically states that if, within 24 hours of booking your room you find a lower rate for the same dates, hotel and room type, the company will match that rate – and give you an extra 25 percent off. (Rules and restrictions apply.)
* Be flexible. Every traveler knows about high-season vs. low-season and weekday vs. weekend hotel rates, so be mindful of those as you plan your trip. You just might be able to save big on some of the hottest hotels in town if you’re open to changing your travel dates.
* Financial Districts. If you’re traveling on a weekend, check out the hotel rates in your destination’s financial district. Not only do hotel rates in these neighborhoods often drop over the weekend, but many major cities’ financial districts are relatively close to the hottest spots in town.
* Stay in boom towns. Over the past few years a lot of cities have added a lot of hotel rooms – which means that if you’re traveling to, say, Las Vegas, Phoenix or even New York, you might find a better deal there than you would if you were traveling to a smaller city with fewer hotel rooms.
If you’re planning a romantic getaway or are traveling with someone special, many hotels offer web-only travel packages with unique amenities, like vouchers you can use for spa treatments, fine dining or golf. And if you were planning to use those particular amenities anyway – packages like this can really help you save.
