Entry from: Las Vegas, United States Entry Title: “Starting the Trek North” Entry: “We traveled north through Wickenburg and along the Joshua Forest Parkway (Hwy 93) to I-40 near Kingman. This is a beautiful drive and, as we had traveled this way by car last year, were continually struck by how different we found the views from our higher vantage point in the motor home. At this point the winds were quiet. We turned west on I- 40 and at Kingman, took Hwy 68 across to to Laughlin and Bullhead City. This route is over a mountain range and has a twelve mile 6% grade down the mountain into the Colorado River Valley. We were really thankful for our engine brake! There is a really pretty RV park on the river edge in Bullhead City, but we missed the entrance. So on across the bridge and a left turn on Casino Drive in Laughlin. We stopped in a casino parking lot and pulled out the maps while we were eating lunch and decided to move on to Vegas. Rather than retrace our steps, we continued along the rive and connected with hwy 95, a drive that took us through some lovely residential areas – interspersed with halted construction on what would probably have been new casinos. We traveled west again on hwy 163 to Nevada 95 north. This is a beautiful drive, quite different from the landscape on the Arizona side of …
