This video shows the Mirage Volcano erupting while we were on our vacation in Las Vegas. The video was recorded with a Canon EOS 7D and a Tokina 12-24mm DX F4. The camera displayed a heat warning at the end of the show.

The Neon Museum Boneyard has over 100 donated and rescued signs. Some dating back to the Great Depression of the 1930s and many representing resorts and casino since that time that have disappeared off the face of the earth – save for the neon signs to be found here. The Hacienda Horse & Rider, Aladdin’s Lamp, The Red Barn, and the Chief Court Hotel, are a few of the unusual neon signs you can see that recall some of the city’s days gone by. Please note the Museum is only open by appointment for guided tours, and not open to the general public. Call to arrange a tour.

Nevada test sites were instrumental in the development of atomic weapons. In the early 1950s nuclear testing was not considered hazardous to people or the environment. Mushroom clouds were not an infrequent phenomenon as scientists and military engaged in above ground testing. The Atomic Testing Museum chronicles this rather questionable chapter in the history of Nevada and it is a cautionary tale of the unintended consequences of “benign” technology.

This provides visitors with a handy history of Vegas aviation. At one time small planes could actually land just off The Strip allowing passengers to go directly into the casino hotels. Those days are long gone, along with any spare fields to land a plane, no matter how small. Fascinating history like this visitor will explore with a trip to the McCarran Aviation History Museum which is not a bad place to drop into before or after a flight into the city.

Bankruptcy means a state in which a person is totally running out of money. But legally speaking it is a condition that allows a person to clear his debt and start anew. The City centre was once touted as the most renowned establishment in history. This project was a joint venture between the Dubai world and the MGM. However, due to global recession the MGM resorts international are genuinely having a hard time to let its two ends meet and find money to finish the job. Recently, it has also been heard that as it has used up all its last available credit facilities, it has sold off its Treasure Island Casino hotel at the heart of Las Vegas. This caused an absolute case of bankruptcy in Las Vegas.

A case was filed in the Delaware Chancery Court regarding bankruptcy, in Las Vegas. It was about their ability to complete the project and had asked the court to take suitable measures. Dubai world cannot give any assurance that it can gather enough cash, or credit to be able to come out debt thereby putting the -plus billion City Center project in danger. The MGM Mirage is now forced to break the contract of joint venture agreement which has taken place between both of them. Thus, the case of bankruptcy in Las Vegas became almost obvious.

The prime cause for the Las Vegas bankruptcy was the global economic recession that had a sizeable impact in Dubai, with the number of visitors falling to double digits. This Vegas bankruptcy forced the Dubai world to declare that it has got no other alternative but to take an action for the apt protection of the investment and the status of City Center.

Dubai World also blamed MGM saying that it has “mismanaged” its resources. It has also been accused of curtailing, some of the planned facilities. Therefore, the Dubai World had to pay greater capital than the levels originally estimated. This had a prominent role to play in bankruptcy, in Las Vegas.

The MGM spokesman at Las Vegas told that the lawsuits made by the Dubai World “are utterly without merit”. It was also told that the Dubai world was well aware of MGM’s capital investment and that it still has funds to satisfy these obligations. The MGM also claimed that the Emirates cannot remain unaffected by the global financial crisis since the price of oils had also come down. These mounted up to make Las Vegas bankruptcy manifestly real.
