Hi, I’m Arbor! A Labrador/Border Collie mix and a former shelter dog from the Animal Foundation in Las Vegas. I thought it would be fun to strap a GoPro camcorder on my back and give you a tour of Vegas from a dog’s point of view! The first hotel I visited was the Flamingo. They have 15 acres of lush tropical gardens with cascading waterfalls and a wildlife habitat home to Chilean flamingos. While shooting, I made a new friend there, Lori, who is the bird caretaker at the hotel. You’ll get to meet her in the video. Oh, and be sure to watch my other video as I venture inside the Flamingo Hotel & Casino. I am given VIP treatment with special access to the casino floor, including the blackjack table! What a night! I had such a good time I’ve decided to make more videos, so subscribe to my channel for more Vegas adventures!

2009- I visited Las Vegas Sahara Hotel and I got some surprises. I did not know they have Balcony rooms. They have a great view of Las Vegas and the mountains. The room is basic and anyways, you’re not going to use it much. This was Comp’d, so I am not sure what category this room is under or how much it is.

Las Vegas Bus Tours to Grand Canyon: 5 Things You Need to Know

Article by K Kravitz

It’s no secret: The Grand Canyon bus from Las Vegas to the South Rim is one of Vegas’ best day-trip values. Not on your list of Sin City must-do’s? Here are five solid reasons why it should be:

#1 – The views are incredible – This is the Rim you see in National Geographic. Mather Point, Yaki Point, Yavapai Observation Station and more and more are here and give you unparalleled views of the canyon below.

#2 – The bus drivers are incredible tour guides – These driving professionals know the route better than anyone else. They also know the National Park like it’s their own back yard. Their anecdotes and insights greatly enhance this tour.

#3 – The luxury bus is fun – These are state-of-the-art motor coaches with lounge-style seats, TV’s, and over-sized windows. The ride is smooth and comfortable. Great for families, groups, and special occasions.

#4 – Great souvenir shopping – The Bright Angel gift shop is the king of gift shops. Hats, t-shirts, minerals, DVDs, day packs, magnets, food specialties. You name, it’s here.

#5 – It’s affordable – The base trip can be had on the Internet for around per person. It’s all-inclusive and comes with a lite breakfast, box lunch, professional driver-guide, and up to three hours of rim time. On your way, you also get to see Lake Mead and Hoover Dam. Most tours now include a photo-stop on the Arizona side of the Dam. Now that’s a bargain!

The South Rim bus trip is an all-day adventure and takes about 15 hours. Trips, which come with free shuttle service to and from your Vegas hotel, leave at 7 a.m. The rim is 277 miles east of Las Vegas and one-way drive time is 5.5 hours (it goes fast aboard these luxury buses). Figure on returning to The Strip at around 9 p.m. I don?t recommend making dining or entertainment reservations after this trip.

Dress accordingly. During the summer, wear light clothing. Shorts, t-shirts, brimmed hats, and running shoes are fine. Pack along some sunscreen and bring a bottle of water. If you check out one of the rim’s fabulous trails, I suggest limiting it to 15 minutes one way. That?s plenty of time to get a feel of what it?s like to be in the gorge without ?overheating.? Winter is cold at the South Rim. The best strategy is to dress in layers. Take along a beanie, a pair of gloves. Come dressed in pants. I’ve seen Vegas travelers in shorts. Avoid that. The rim’s elevation is nearly twice that of Vegas’ and it?s a complete weather change.

There are three main tour operators that run bus trips from Las Vegas to the Grand Canyon: Papillon Tours, Grand Canyon Coaches, and Grayline. There are a lot of smaller bus tour companies and many are outstanding. From reviews I’ve read on some of the top travel forums, Grand Canyon Coaches gets a lot of kudos for its commitment to comfort, value, and safety. The up-and-comer is Paradise Found, which has one of the best all-inclusive tours I’ve ever taken.

I strongly suggest that you book this tour on the Web and ahead of time. This is an incredibly popular trip and it does sell out. If you want the best deal, buy direct online from the tour operator. These companies compete hard with each other and offer their best rates on their websites.

The Grand Canyon bus from Las Vegas is a marvellous trip. From start to finish, it’s packed with things to do and see. Highlights include Hoover Dam, Lake Mead, Mather Point, Yaki Point, Bright Angel and more. If you are searching for a day trip that let’s you say, “been there, done that,” this bus tour’s the one. See you up there!

This is some of the footage from Las Vegas. It is edited and prepared especially for my Hospitality class. If I showed the entire film, I would most definitely be kicked out of school and imprisoned.

The most effective way to know if you are visiting a club that is worth your time and money is by word of mouth. Getting honest opinions from those who have already experienced the place you are contemplating to visit. The World Wide Web is filled with many quality sites that rate, review and have online discussions boards to help you make your Las Vegas trip more enjoyable. “Viva Las Vegas”

In 1963 Elvis Presley spent several weeks in town to film the hit movie “Viva Las Vegas”, which co-starred Ann-Margret.

The movie was a huge success, costing only a million to make and earning million. It also spawned what many consider Sin City’s theme song, “Viva Las Vegas”.  It layed the future Las Vegas fame and growth!

“Viva Las Vegas”, featured a Vegas wedding between Elvis and his co-star Ann-Margret. Four years later Elvis’ real-life love story played out in Las Vegas. On May 1, 1967, at age of 32, he married Priscilla Anne Beaulieu, 21, at Milton Prell’s Aladdin Hotel. They were wed in a quiet eight-minute ceremony in Prell’s suite.

Elvis first performed in Las Vegas in 1956,he was just 21. Booked in the Venus Room and billed as the “Atomic Powered Singer”, he pwrformed at the New Frontier hotel.

While he was popular with teens around the country at the time, Elvis was not the typical Las Vegas Strip entertainer of the 50′s.  Elvis’ shows were met with a cool reception.

A reviewer for the Las Vegas Sun newspaper, Bill Willard, wrote about Elvis Presley’s performance, “For the teen-agers, the long, tall Memphis lad is a whiz; for the average Vegas spender or showgoer, a bore. His musical sound with a combo of three is uncouth, matching to a great extent the lyric content of his nonsensical songs.”

Willard may have captured the dismay of that older Vegas audiences of the 50′s had with the young upstart at that time, but Las Vegas resident Ed Jameson caught a vision of the future. Elvis would have an impact on Vegas.

Penning a rebuttal to Willard’s review, Jameson wrote, “He is not a Rock ‘n’ Roller nor is he a cowboy singer. He is something new coming over the horizon all by himself and he deserves his ever-growing audience. Nobody should miss him. Parents would do well to take their children to hear him. It would be a good way to get to know and understand your own kids.”

Elvis ended his two-week run unable to capture a foot hold in Las Vegas. This first try didn’t end his relationship with Vegas. He wouldn’t return to a Las Vegas stage for another 13 years.
