The city certainly stands out in the middle of the desert with its city lights that can be seen from the far reaches of the surrounding counties. It is a unique location that is unlike any other place in the world.

Two other nicknames for the city are “Capital of Second Chances” and “The Marriage Capital of the World.” Many mistakenly confuse the strip with the entire area of Las Vegas.

Las Vegas extends much farther than its famous boulevard. It is a land that is constantly improving and redeveloping, adding more and more opportunities and amenities every day.

The economy is primarily driven by tourism, gaming and large conventions including retail and dining industry bursts. It is the headquarters for the world’s two largest Fortune 500 gaming companies: Harrah’s Entertainment and MGM Mirage.

There is a constant population growth that means the housing construction industry is simultaneously sprouting. In the year 2000 alone, more than 21,000 new homes and 26,000 resale homes were purchased.

There were 20 property development projects of more than 300 acres each in the year 2005 while it was considered the fastest growing community in the United States. The recession of 2007-2009 took a toll and the businesses in the area took a little tumble.

But as soon as things begin looking up, there will be a continuance of growth. The tourism industry on the other hand has picked up.

Perhaps, due to the recession, people are looking to travel and get away from their problems. Las Vegas has proven to provide that reclusion from reality with its one-of-a-kind vacation spots.

IT has recently enjoyed an enormous boom both in population and in tourism despite the economy. Travel deals have brought in many new visitors who have discovered what this city has to offer.

Judging from this, the property management industry in the area should pick up even more soon. Most people come to visit the famous hotel casinos on the boulevard and the Strip.

Once they stop by to see the majestic city, they always want to stay longer. What better way to do that than to live outside the excitement in the more relaxed towns surrounding the Boulevard?

The metropolitan and proper areas of this city are a great way to live close to all the action without the constant business of the city. If you like a balance between excitement and relaxation, this is a great place for you to settle.

There are many culturally enriching activities that are unique to the area. For example, on the first Friday of every month, a “First Friday” celebration is held which exhibits the works of local artists and musicians in the downtown region known as the “Arts District.”

The Thursday proceeding the First Friday is known as “Preview Thursday.” During these Thursday evenings, highlights are displayed in gallery exhibits that are just opening throughout the district.

Also, the Southern Nevada Zoological-Botanical Park or the “Las Vegas Zoo” is home to over 150 species of animals and plants. This is another great attraction to visit to dig deeper into the area’s culture.

The smith Center for the Performing Arts is located in Symphony Park and will be a center for Broadway shows and other major attractions like orchestra, opera and dance performances. It is a 5 million project and will be finished soon.

There is plenty to do in this city and will keep you entertained for a lifetime. It is a great place to settle in the areas surrounding the city.

If you have a players card in a casino and play for at least an hour give your card to the pit boss or promotions clerk and request a free meal at the restaurant of your choice. Also check out inflight magazines.

Remember, never hesitate to ask for anything free in a casino.

If you’re in a tight budget on your Las Vegas vacation then consider splurging a little for breakfast or lunch and then eating some Las Vegas cheap eats for dinner. Remember also that some of the best cheap meal deals occur after midnight too, if you have trouble sleeping.
